(3) Sessions: June 10, 11 and 12, 2022 (1:00 pm – 3:00 p.m. EST) 11am - 1:00 p.m. Arizona Time

In this intensive three session class, we will explore many approaches to ring design and fabrication. Learn about band rings, those that incorporate gold, fusion, gems, and adjustable ring shanks. This class will jump start you into thinking about new shapes, forms and textures to adorn the finger! Class format is Zoom with recorded sessions for later viewing access. Meets for three consecutive days for two hours. Power point presentations of design and technique will begin each class, followed by live demonstrations, design discussions, tips and tricks. Homework and design prompts will be shared as goals each week. Handouts, tool lists and support materials included.

6/10 - Session One: Ring history, more than a band, measuring, layout and sizing, fused rings, stacking rings, rings that are not round.

6/11 - Session Two: Adjustable rings, rings with bezels, tabs and prongs!

6/12 - Session Three: Q & A, Focus on finishing, Setting tips and tricks! Clean up and patina

BIO: Paulette Werger is a metalsmith living in New Hampshire.  She received her B.S. in painting and sculpture from the College of Saint Rose and Skidmore College in NY, and her M.F.A. in Art Metal from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Paulette exhibits and sells her work both nationally and internationally, and teaches workshops in jewelry making and metalsmithing techniques. In 2007 she was Visiting Artist at the Claflin Jewelry Studio at Dartmouth College, and in 2008 she was the Dayton-Hudson Visiting Scholar at Carleton College. She is a founding member of Metalpeople Studio in Madison, WI. Her current studio, Metalpeople East, is located in Lebanon, NH. She serves on the Boards of Trustees for the Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston, MA and for the Alliance for the Visual Arts in Lebanon, NH. Her work has been exhibited widely, including the Chazen Museum of Art, the Renwick Gallery of Craft, and Fuller Craft Museum.  Her awards include a Best in Show Award at the League of NH Craftsmen’s Living With Craft Exhibition for her silver flatware set titled “Family Gathering”  and a Governor’s Award from the Minnesota Designer Crafts Council. In 2007, her pewter teapot “Tea for Two” was added to the permanent collection of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, and her sculpture “Eight Degrees Until True” was added to the permanent collection of the AVA Gallery and Art Center
