About the event
Create your own kinetic mechanisms to make your jewelry move. In this workshop, we will make a silver slide-to-open hinged locket with a stone set clasp. In addition we will make several other kinetic components, including stone set hinges, ball and socket joints, spinners, and more! Make your jewelry interactive and playful by incorporating these mechanisms.
ARTIST BIO
Charity Hall is an enamelist and metalsmith in Blacksburg, Virginia who creates biologically-inspired artwork. She shares her passion for metal and enamel through teaching workshops at Penland, John C. Campbell Folk School, Touchstone Center for Craft, and many other locations across the country. Charity's work is included in museum collections, including the Mint Museum and Philadelphia Museum of Art. Her work is currently shown at the Penland Gallery and Metal Museum, and is also featured in several books, including 500 Enameled Objects: A Celebration of Color on Metal, Humor in Craft, and New…
