Have you made some sketches and make jewelry and or small objects? Finished something and don’t know what to do next? Interested in creating a body of work for a series or to sell? Learn how to find inspiration from your environment, memories and events important to you. Design exercises will help you think about various ways to approach design and develop your personal style. Leave with ideas to create a series or production line of beautiful jewelry or small objects!
BIO: Daryls was introduced to using metals while she was a student at Drake University, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University. During the ensuing years, Daryls has lived and worked in Chicago. She is known for creating formed, fabricated, and patinated vessels and sculpture from copper and other metals. Darlys has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards. Her work has been included in many exhibitions, public and private collections, and publications. In addition to working in her studio, Darlys presents workshops on metalsmithing and patination techniques nationally and internationally. She also teaches jewelry, objects, and design classes at Columbia College Chicago, and area art centers.
