Contemporary Automata through the Eyes of Michael Croft

Michael Croft will present a unique lecture and slide show about a world of mechanically operated figures/toys, that are whimsical and hand crafted. The figures are automated by the interaction of an individual and a crank, lever, or other moveable device. They are usually quirky, playful, and often cartoonish. Mechanical workings are clearly visible in the belief that seeing how something works is part of the fun. Come join Michael and the workshop committee of Arizona Designer Crafts and Art group for a delightful and educational presentation.
